ITHACA, N.Y. — Ithaca Area Economic Development (IAED) is accepting registrations for the Pathways to Manufacturing program, which begins April 8 at the TC3–Ithacaextension center at 118 N. Tioga Street in Ithaca.
The deadline to register is this Friday, March 22. Classes run Monday through Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. until May 3. The program is free for all participants.
The Pathways to Manufacturing program is a full-time, four-week training program to equip people with the technical skills that area manufacturers need. Upon completion, participants get a one-time, $500 stipend; a guaranteed interview with at least one participating manufacturer; and can take the certified manufacturing associate (CMfgA) exam for a national credential.

IAED describes the Pathways to Manufacturing program as a mix of online learning and hands-on experience using virtual reality, employer engagement, and team-building activities.
The program seeks to provide participants with an understanding of manufacturing processes and techniques. They can also spend an entire day with each participating manufacturer, meeting with several departments and human–resources personnel.
