In Oneida County, 40 percent of residents have now received at least one COVID vaccine dose

UTICA, N.Y. — Oneida County on Tuesday morning hit the 40 percent mark for share of the total population that has received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.

That’s according to the latest data from the state’s COVID-19 Vaccine Tracker, as of 11 a.m.

A total of 91,762 Oneida County residents, or 40.0 percent, have received a minimum of one dose of vaccine that protects against COVID-19. A total of 71,491 Oneida County residents, or 31.1 percent, are now considered fully vaccinated, per the vaccine tracker.

Oneida County hit the 35 percent mark for at least one dose on April 8, the same day that New York State reached the same milestone. But the state got to the 40 percent level faster, topping it on April 16.

Among the 16 Central New York counties in our coverage area, Oneida County ranks sixth in share of the population vaccinated against COVID with a minimum of one dose. The top five CNY counties are Tompkins (56.5%), Onondaga (47.9%), Madison (46.2%), Broome (44%), and St. Lawrence (41.7%).
