UTICA — Indium Corp. has promoted Jim MacPherson to assistant plant manager for the company’s Business Park Drive facility in Utica.

MacPherson’s expanded responsibilities include assisting with all aspects of facility operations, including inventory, tooling, order management, and product quality support. He will also work closely with managers, supervisors, team leaders, and manufacturing engineers to provide management support, as well as interfacing with the product managers and sales and technical teams, Indium said in a news release.

MacPherson joined Indium in 2009 as a nanotechnologist and manufacturing process engineer. Since then, he has provided “distinguished leadership through contributions to the planning and review process, quality reporting, and customer audits and site visits,” Indium said.

MacPherson earned a bachelor’s degree in ceramic engineering from Alfred University.
