Interventional cardiologist joins FSLH and SEMC medical staffs

UTICA, N.Y. — Dr. Michael K. Amponsa has joined Central New York Cardiology, PC with privileges at Faxton St. Luke’s Healthcare (FSLH) and St. Elizabeth Medical Center (SEMC).

He specializes in cardiology and interventional cardiology, as well as peripheral vascular intervention and transcatheter aortic valve replacement, according to a news release from Mohawk Valley Health System (MVHS). FSLH and SEMC are part of MVHS.

Amponsah earned his medical degree from the University of Science and Technology in Kumasi, Ghana. He completed his internal medicine residency and cardiovascular disease fellowship at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center in Newark, New Jersey, where he received further training in structural heart, coronary, and peripheral vascular interventions. Amponsah is board-certified in cardiovascular disease and internal medicine.
