ITHACA, N.Y. — Heather McDaniel, president of Ithaca Area Economic Development (IAED), has been appointed to a seat on the board of directors of the International Economic Development Council (IEDC).
The Washington, D.C.–based IEDC is a nonprofit organization representing economic-development professionals throughout the world. IAED is the economic-development organization for Ithaca and Tompkins County.
The IEDC’s nominations committee elected McDaniel to serve on its board during its 2020 annual conference, held Oct. 13-16. McDaniel’s term begins on Jan. 1, 2021.
McDaniel has been president of IAED since 2018 and has worked for the organization for 13 years in all. She is the administrative director of the Tompkins County Industrial Development Agency (TCIDA) and the Tompkins County Development Corporation (TCDC).
