Joy A. Blumkin and Marcie A. Finlay have become “of counsel” to Coughlin & Gerhart and will remain in their current offices in the Gateway Building in Ithaca. This law practice will become the third Coughlin & Gerhart office in Ithaca and the second located in the Gateway Building, along with the previously merged Albanese Law Offices, according to a Coughlin & Gerhart news release.

The Blumkin & Finlay firm has been serving the Ithaca area for more than 20 years. Its legal practice areas include elder law, wills, trusts and estate planning, guardianship, special needs planning, probate, estate and trust administration, and real estate.

“We have been looking to strengthen our services to the Ithaca area,” Mark Gorgos, managing partner of Coughlin & Gerhart, said in the release, “and we believe the Elder Law and Estate experience of Blumkin & Finlay, LLP will enhance and strengthen the mission of both firms to meet our clients’ legal needs.”

He indicated that he hopes to bring the three Ithaca office, which also includes the former Holmberg Galbraith firm, under one roof in Ithaca within the next 18 months.

Coughlin & Gerhart, which was founded in the 1890s, has grown to be a multi-service law firm, employing more than 50 lawyers and a professional support staff. The firm’s main office is at 99 Corporate Drive in Binghamton. It has branch offices located in Bainbridge, Cortland, Ithaca, Owego, Hancock, Walton, as well as Montrose, Pennsylvania.
