The partners of the law firm of Hinman, Howard & Kattell, LLP have re-elected JAMES W. ORBAND as managing partner for a new five-year term. A 1981 graduate of Binghamton University, he received his law degree from Albany Law School of Union University in 1984. Orband joined Hinman, Howard & Kattell, LLP in 1984 and became a partner in 1991 and has served as the firm’s managing partner since 1999. His new term will run through 2023.He maintains an active legal practice, focusing in the areas of banking and financial services, business and securities law, construction law, and estate and trust planning and administration. A native of the Southern Tier, Orband serves as a director of Security Mutual Life Insurance Company of New York and Southern Tier High Technology Incubator, Inc. He is a member of the New York, Pennsylvania, and Florida Bar Associations and previously served as chair of both the New York State Bar Association Business Law Section and its Banking Law Committee.
