Jefferson Clinton Suites in Armory Square now operates under Best Western brand

SYRACUSE, N.Y. — The Jefferson Clinton Suites at 416 S. Clinton St. in Syracuse’s Armory Square area is now operating as the Best Western Syracuse Downtown Hotel and Suites.

The hotel, owned by Syracuse Hospitality Developers, recently completed renovations and includes 68 total guestrooms, 40 of which are suites.

The hotel joined the Best Western brand on June 2, but the signage on the facility won’t change until late this fall, a spokesperson tells CNYBJ in an email.

“Our property has been a landmark in this area for almost a century and after operating as an independent hotel for a number of years, we are pleased to join the iconic Best Western brand,” Stephenie Jones, general manager of Best Western Syracuse Downtown Hotel and Suites, said. “Having access to Best Western’s best-in-class support and resources only strengthens our confidence in the future of our beloved hotel and we look forward to serving our community and guests for many more years to come.”

Renovations to the property include a full kitchen and bathroom remodel in guest rooms, as well as new furniture. Lobby renovations include furniture, lighting, and breakfast-area updates while keeping the original 95-year-old marble intact.

The hotel offers amenities that include a 24-hour fitness center, guest laundry facilities, a business center with complimentary printing, and a 645-square-foot meeting room that can accommodate up to 32 people.

Originally built in 1927 by Gustavus A. Young, the hotel was fashioned in the Beaux-Arts style and is one of the last remaining hotels from that era in the area.
