Joan Newell, M.D.

Joan Newell, M.D., has joined Oswego Hospital’s medical staff and Port City Family Medicine, located at 33 E. Schuyler St. in Oswego. She earned her medical degree from the University of Vermont and completed her internal-medicine residency at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, N.H. During her residency she was presented an excellence in teaching award in three different years. Newell attended Middlebury College in Vermont, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in molecular biology and Russian. An internist, she has been providing primary care services for the past three years at an outpatient clinic at the Cayuga Medical Center in Ithaca.
