ITHACA, N.Y. — Cornell University has named Andrew Karolyi as dean of the Cornell SC Johnson College of Business.
Karolyi had been serving as acting dean of the business school since Kevin Hallock stepped down March 4. Hallock was later named the next president of the University of Richmond, effective Aug. 15.
The Cornell University Board of Trustees’ Executive Committee approved the appointment of Karolyi as SC Johnson College of Business dean on April 8. He will serve out the remainder of Hallock’s term, which ends June 30, 2024.
Karolyi, who had served as deputy dean for nearly three years, is also the college’s dean of academic affairs, as well as a professor of management in the Samuel Curtis Johnson Graduate School of Management.
“I am honored and grateful to serve as the next dean of the Cornell SC Johnson College of Business,” Karolyi said in a news release, “and have the opportunity to continue to work with this incredible community to keep us moving forward, advancing as a college.”
