KeyBank appoints Humphrey as corporate responsibility officer for CNY

KeyBank announced it has promoted Kawanza Humphrey to corporate responsibility officer for the company’s Rochester and Central New York markets, effective immediately.

Humphrey will oversee a broad community engagement strategy, in the Rochester and Central New York markets, which will include CRA (Community Reinvestment Act) compliance and execution of KeyBank’s $16.5 billion National Community Benefits Plan in the area, the bank said in a news release.

As part of the five-year plan, announced in partnership with the National Community Reinvestment Coalition and more than 80 community organizations, KeyBank committed to $16.5 billion in mortgage lending, small-business lending, community development lending, investing, and philanthropy over the next five years.

Humphrey will report to Catherine Braniecki, KeyBank’s regional corporate responsibility officer for upstate New York and New England.

Humphrey most recently served as VP and area retail leader for KeyBank’s branches in the city of Buffalo. She joined Key in 2012 when the bank acquired part of HSBC’s branch network in upstate New York. Before starting her career in banking with HSBC in 2001, Humphrey was an account executive at both WGRZ-TV and WIVB-TV in Buffalo.

Humphrey holds a bachelor’s degree in English/African American studies from the University of Buffalo and a master’s degree in executive leadership and change from Daemen College.
