KeyBank donates $50,000 to Salvation Army for health-care services

DeWITT, N.Y. — KeyBank (NYSE: KEY) announced it has donated $50,000 to the Salvation Army to support a program that helps children, teenagers, and young adults dealing with physical or behavioral-health “challenges.”

This donation, which KeyBank announced at ShoppingTown Mall in DeWitt, will help the Salvation Army to support the children’s-care management program that was launched a year ago, the organizations said in a joint news release issued Dec. 20.

It provides “ongoing intensive-care” management services for children with Medicaid up to age 21 who have “complex” physical or behavioral-health conditions.

The Salvation Army wants to make this program available to more children by working with its community partners to “ensure that those who need this care receive it.”

The program supported nearly 100 local children and their families during its first year, the Salvation Army said.

“Our children are our most precious resource and this donation will ensure those facing physical and/or behavioral challenges get the care they need and give their families peace of mind,” Stephen Fournier, Central New York market president for Cleveland, Ohio–based KeyBank, said in the release.

“We are grateful to KeyBank for this generous donation which will help us expand access to this vital program,” Major Mark Mackneer, general secretary and director of county operations at the Salvation Army of Onondaga County, added.
