KeyBank names O’Connor VP of commercial banking

SYRACUSE, N.Y. — KeyBank announced it has hired James A. O’Connor as vice president and senior relationship manager for commercial banking in the Central New York market.

He is responsible for business development and serves as an account executive and advisor for commercial-banking clients with sales of $10 million to $500 million, according to a KeyBank news release. O’Connor is based in Key’s Central New York market headquarters office at 201 South Warren St. in Syracuse.

O’Connor was previously a relationship manager for commercial banking at NBT Bank in Utica. He has also worked as senior business relationship manager for HSBC Bank in Syracuse and as a commercial loan officer for Alliance Bank (acquired by NBT Bank) in Syracuse, according to the release. He has 26 years experience in the financial-services industry.

O’Connor earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration from SUNY Buffalo. 

KeyBank says it has 55 branches, about 80 ATMs, and more than 375 employees in its 12-county Central New York market.
