CLINTON, N.Y. — The Kirkland Art Center announced it has appointed Marilee Ensign as executive director.

Ensign brings more than 15 years of experience in the nonprofit sector, including her previous work as executive director of Utica Symphony Orchestra and, currently, as director of the Clinton ABC Program and manager for Clinton Symphony Orchestra MV, according to a news release from Kirkland Art Center.

Her passion for the arts developed early in her career when she studied drama education and she has worked as an actor and director in many theater companies, including Players of Utica.
In its 58th year, the Kirkland Art Center (KAC) is a regional community arts center located on the village green in Clinton. The mission of the KAC is to educate children and adults, to advocate for artists and the arts, and to engage the community in a range of cultural experiences and opportunities, the release said.

The KAC is located at 9 ½ East Park Row in the village of Clinton.
