Lakeview Amphitheater ticket sales top 200,000 in first season, Onondaga County reports

GEDDES, N.Y. — Ticket sales for the first season at the Lakeview Amphitheater exceeded 200,000, Onondaga County announced in a news release.

The county was citing numbers from Live Nation Entertainment Inc. — the concert promoter for the $50 million venue located on the shore of Onondaga Lake.

When asked by BJNN how much revenue the ticket sales generated during the first season of 22 shows, Martin Skahen, chief of staff for Onondaga County Executive Joanie Mahoney, said in an email that he didn’t have that information.

Concert goers purchased tickets from all 50 states, along with Washington D.C., Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands, Onondaga County said.

People from all of New York’s 62 counties also bought tickets.

The data also indicates more than 62 percent of consumers from zip codes outside of Onondaga County bought tickets, along with more than 30 percent of people from outside New York state.

“We had high expectations for Lakeview Amphitheater and they were exceeded. We built a beautiful venue on our revitalized lake with great sound and seating and concertgoers embraced it. Thank you to everyone who made this season such a tremendous success,” Mahoney said in the release.

The Lakeview Amphitheater can accommodate about 17,500 concert goers per show — 5,000 in covered seats plus about 12,500 on the lawn.
