SYRACUSE, N.Y. — The Landmark Theatre Board of Trustees has named Michael H. Intaglietta executive director of the Landmark Theatre in downtown Syracuse.

Intaglietta has been the general manager of the Landmark Theatre since October 2015. His time at the Landmark has been marked by the theatre’s busiest season in years, featuring successful runs of touring Broadway shows such as “Wicked,” “Beautiful-The Carole King Story,” and “Motown the Musical” last spring, the Landmark said in a news release. Also, Disney’s “The Lion King” recently completed a three-week engagement in November, setting a record for the highest-grossing engagement in Syracuse theatrical history at $4.1 million, the theatre said.

In addition to Broadway shows, Intaglietta’s tenure has also seen an increase in “high-profile” bookings for the venue, including astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson and The Daily Show host Trevor Noah appearing before sell-out crowds at the theatre. This trend looks to continue through the 2018 season, the release said, with popular acts such as truTV’s Impractical Jokers, comedians Sebastian Maniscalco and Jim Gaffigan, and singer-songwriter Jackson Browne scheduled.

“We are thrilled to promote Mike to this position,” Stephanie Crockett, president of the Landmark’s board of trustees, said in the release. “For more than two years, Mike has led the theatre through a difficult financial position, vastly improving operations and positioning the Landmark for ongoing success. We are excited to continue to bring world-class entertainment to Central New York and know that under Mike’s leadership, the theatre will flourish.”

Intaglietta previously served as administrative director for the Redhouse Arts Center and as a previous director of operations for CNY Arts. He is currently the VP of the Arts and Culture Leadership Alliance of Central New York.
