SYRACUSE, N.Y. — The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB International) has notified Le Moyne College’s Madden School of Business that it has maintained its accreditation with the organization.
Founded in 1916, the Tampa, Florida–based AACSB International is the “longest serving” global accrediting body for business schools that offer undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral degrees in business and accounting.
AACSB initially accredited the Madden School in 2009 and again in 2014. It was one of 38 schools that AACSB announced as having extended its accreditation, Le Moyne said.

“The reaffirmation of our AACSB accreditation is an important endorsement of the excellence and relevance of the curriculum and programs offered by the Madden School,” Jim Joseph, dean of the Madden School of Business, contended in the Le Moyne news release. “I would like to thank those within the Madden School and across the college for their expertise, hard work and dedication that led to this outcome, and also the many alumni and other business leaders for their involvement with the school as mentors and advisors.”
The review process
The AACSB peer-review process focused on four areas, Le Moyne said.
They include the mission and vision of the Madden School reflecting the institution’s “overall Jesuit heritage and values” with support from the school’s new strategic plan that it adopted in 2016.
In addition, Le Moyne’s efforts at utilizing faculty, staff and other resources to ensure students are “effectively” recruited, taught, advised and otherwise supported.
The review process also examined the Madden School’s curricula-management system, which “reflects input from a variety of sources,” and the school uses “state of the art” technology to improve teaching effectiveness, per the release.
In addition, the review found that Le Moyne has increased the academic and professional “engagement” of faculty and students with alumni; the corporate, family business, and entrepreneurial communities; local and national governments; prominent regional universities; and the global Jesuit network, the college said.
