Leadership Greater Syracuse names three new board members, four officers

DeWITT, N.Y. — Leadership Greater Syracuse (LGS) announced the election of three community leaders to its board of directors.

The new board members, each elected to three-year terms, are:

•       Steven Coker, economic development specialist for Onondaga County

•       Elyzabeth Gannon, director of the Community Care Hub at Onondaga Community College

•       Jennifer Smith, assistant general counsel at C & S Companies

All three are past graduates of the LGS civic-leadership training program.

LGS also announced that four board members were elected as officers. They include:

•       President: Ron Lombard, news director, Time Warner Cable News

•       Vice Chairman: Jeannette Flowers, director of account management, POMCO

•       Treasurer: Amy Lawler, chief financial officer, ERSI

•       Secretary: Kathleen Bennett, member (partner) at Bond Schoeneck & King

The four officers are also past graduates of the LGS program.

Founded in 1991, Leadership Greater Syracuse is a nonprofit organization that says its mission is to inspire current and future leaders to make a difference in the community in which they live and work.

Each year, the DeWitt–based organization selects a new class of about 50 to 55 people to participate in its yearlong training program to expose them to key community leaders and organizations and the most important issues facing the community.
