SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Testone, Marshall & Discenza, LLP (TMD) has announced that staff accountant Michelle Lesser was recently appointed to the United Way of Central New York’s Young Leaders United (YLU) steering committee.
TMD made the announcement in a news release distributed on Thursday.
The mission of YLU is to “promote and encourage the spirit of philanthropy and volunteerism among young professionals,” according to the TMD news release.
YLU strives to develop the “community leaders of tomorrow,” the news release said. Members pledge to complete 16 hours of volunteer service every year along with a financial commitment.
Lesser is a staff accountant in TMD’s audit-practice group and provides accounting services to the firm’s clients.
A graduate of St. John Fisher College, Lesser is active in TMD’s community events and volunteer initiatives.
In addition, she is vice chair of the next gen committee of the Syracuse chapter of the New York State Society of Certified Professional Accountants.
