LGS executive director departing for corporate job

DeWITT, N.Y. — Pam Brunet, executive director of Leadership Greater Syracuse (LGS), announced Friday that she is leaving in early September for another job at an area company.

“I am writing today with mixed emotions and surprising news. I have accepted a newly created position of director of corporate and community relations for a company headquartered in Syracuse. As a result, I regretfully share that my last day with LGS will be September 6th,” Brunet wrote in a Friday morning email to the LGS community. “I was not looking for this, as my heart is with LGS. The organization found me. To this position, I will bring more than 25 years of for-profit and nonprofit experience. I will be enhancing my new organization’s community engagement strategy in a three-state footprint.”

Brunet did not name the company she will be joining.

LGS, a DeWitt–based nonprofit that offers a yearlong civic-leadership training program, is now seeking candidates to become its new executive director. Brunet herself participated and graduated from the LGS program in 1998.

Regarding her departure, Brunet wrote in her email, “This change offers the opportunity for a fresh perspective for LGS! For certain the role of executive director for LGS is an amazing and gratifying role. A new executive director will allow LGS to continue to evolve, especially as our community is on the doorstep of its next era.”
