Four Central New York ski areas on Wednesday announced the launch of a program to promote skiing to regional tourists.
Greek Peak Mountain Resort in Virgil, Labrador Mountain in Truxton, Song Mountain Resort in Tully, and Toggenburg Mountain Winter Sports Center in Fabius have formed the Ski Finger Lakes program, according to a news release.
The ski areas involved are located in areas of southern Onondaga County and in Cortland County.

The resorts contend “many” people who visit Cortland County also take the time to visit more than one ski resort, which led the resorts to collaborate on the program.
Ski Finger Lakes will use Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, to encourage skiers and snowboarders to visit each mountain, according to the news release.
The resorts intend to launch a new website, www.skifingerlakes.com, by week’s end.
The website will provide information about each of the resorts, including ski conditions, insider tips, links to nearby accommodations, and a listing of upcoming events, the news release said.
The new initiative targets “snow enthusiasts” within a two-hour drive of the four ski areas.
“It speaks specifically to the day-trippers and spontaneous skiers and boarders in 2014, with plans to expand to the overnight market in 2015,” according to the program’s news release.
