SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Lockheed Martin Corp. (NYSE: LMT) will hold a recruitment event at Destiny USA on Thursday afternoon and evening to fill more than 200 total open positions at its Salina and Owego plants.

The available jobs are about evenly split between the two locations, says Matthew Wilkowski, systems engineering manager with Lockheed Martin in Salina.

The event is set for 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the third floor Canyon area of Destiny USA at 9090 Destiny USA Drive in Syracuse.

The Bethesda, Maryland–based defense contractor has openings for both entry-level and experienced candidates.

“We won’t actually be doing full interviews. It’s more of a meet and greet to try to meet the local population and share with them what we have here to offer. What I recommend they bring is their résumés and any questions they might have for us,” says Wilkowski.

The firm has positions available in systems engineering, electrical engineering, hardware engineering, software engineering, integration and testing and manufacturing operations. It also has openings for experienced assembly and electronic technicians.

Lockheed Martin currently employs about 1,600 people at the Salina plant and about 2,500 in Owego, according to Wilkowski.
