Lockheed’s suburban Syracuse plant wins almost $23 million contract from U.S. Navy

SALINA — The Lockheed Martin Rotary and Missions Systems plant in the town of Salina has been awarded a more than $22.8 million contract from the U.S. Navy.

The cost-plus-fixed-fee and cost-only pact is for AN/SLQ-32(V)6 design agent engineering, incidental material, and travel, according to a Jan. 4 contract announcement from the U.S. Department of Defense.

This contract includes options which, if exercised, would bring the cumulative value of this deal to nearly $119.8 million. Work will be performed in Salina, and is expected to be completed by January 2025, per the contract announcement. If all options are exercised, work will continue through January 2029.

Fiscal 2022 other procurement (Navy) funds of $811,581 will be obligated at the time of award, all of which will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was competitively procured via the SAM.gov website, with one offer received. The Naval Sea Systems Command in Washington, D.C. is the contracting activity.
