Loretto appoints Messinger as Sedgwick Heights administrator

SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Loretto has promoted Molly Messinger to serve as administrator at Sedgwick Heights.

Messinger, who had started at Loretto in 2018, previously served as assistant administrator of the Bernardine, Loretto said. She has worked in long-term care with the geriatric population in social work and administration for six years.

In her previous experience working at the Bernardine assisted-living facility, Messinger was responsible for overseeing various functions of the organization. She started as a care-team manager before becoming assistant administrator.

In her new role, Messinger is responsible for overseeing all functions of the assisted-living program at Sedgwick Heights, including direct care, food service, maintenance, operations, and marketing.

Messinger is also responsible for upholding the safety and well-being of all residents and staff while ensuring compliance with New York State Department of Health regulations, company policies, and procedures.

“I am most looking forward to building rapport with the staff and residents and promoting the mission, vision, and values of the Loretto organization,” Messinger said in a statement. Ultimately, our goal is to make a positive difference in the lives of the people whom we serve.”

She holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a minor in music from Le Moyne College.

Loretto describes itself as the fourth-largest health-care provider and the sixth-largest employer in the region. The nonprofit has 2,500 people working at its 19 locations that deliver care to close to 10,000 people in Onondaga and Cayuga counties each year.
