Loretto breaks ground for new expansion project at the Nottingham

DeWITT, N.Y. — Loretto on Friday broke ground on the new wing for the Nottingham, a senior-living community at 1301 Nottingham Road in the Jamesville area of the town of DeWitt.

Loretto is calling the new wing “The Glens – A Nottingham Residence,” the organization said in a news release. The new residence is scheduled to open in fall 2019.

It’s a “roughly” $8 million development project, the organization said in an email response to a BJNN inquiry.

Providence, Rhode Island–based Gilbane Building Co., which has a Syracuse office, is the general and engineering contractor for the project, according to information that Julie Sheedy, VP, marketing & the foundation, at Loretto provided BJNN.

QPK Design of Syracuse is providing architectural and civil-engineering services. John P. Stopen Engineering, also of Syracuse, is handling the structural-engineering work.

The two-story building with a separate entrance will house 22 new apartments, per the Loretto release.
