The airport has signed an agreement allowing San Francisco, California–based Lyft, Inc. to operate on its property, according to a news release issued Tuesday.
Lyft will pay the Syracuse Airport $2 for every pickup/drop off at the facility, Christina Callahan, executive director of the airport, said in a Wednesday afternoon response to a BJNN email inquiry.
The application-based service is the “fastest growing” ride-hailing company in the U.S. and is available in more than 350 communities and 220 airports.
Syracuse Hancock International Airport will have a designated Lyft pick-up area for passengers who would like to use the service, located on the north end of the terminal, the airport said. Lyft will pay a one-time fee of $2,500 for signage designating that area, according to Callahan.
