A Massachusetts–based environmental and geotechnical consulting firm has acquired the Palmerton Group, LLC of DeWitt.

The Palmerton Group, which is headquartered at 6296 Fly Road and also has offices in the Buffalo and Pittsburgh areas, will become part of Norwood, Mass.–based GZA GeoEnvironmental, Inc. Plans call for the Palmerton Group, which is an environmental-consulting company focused on the oil and gas industry, to keep its name and offices.

The group’s entire staff will be joining GZA. Its founder and CEO, David Palmerton, will become a vice president at the Massachusetts firm.

The companies didn’t disclose financial terms of the deal.
