Mayor Walsh selects Price as City of Syracuse corporation counsel

SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Syracuse Mayor Ben Walsh has appointed Frank Price, Jr. as the next corporation counsel for the City of Syracuse. Price brings to the position more than four decades of practice in business and corporate law.

As corporate counsel, Price will head the city’s department of law, which manages the legal affairs of the City of Syracuse. The department takes an active role in the city’s economic-development activities, public-works projects, real-estate transactions, ordinances, and local laws.

Price has been special counsel to the law firm of Hinman, Howard & Kattell, LLP of Syracuse since 2009. His practice focused on business law, corporate law, and real estate. He previously served as vice president and general counsel of P&C Food Markets Inc., and the Penn Traffic Co., according to the news release.

Price “brings both the heart and the credentials we need to do the job,” Walsh said in a news release issued Saturday.

 “Frank is a lifelong Syracuse resident with a passion for our city and for the people of our community. He’s devoted years of service to community organizations that are vital to the quality of life in Syracuse,” Walsh said. “He is also an accomplished attorney with broad expertise in business and corporate law, as well as direct experience managing a legal team.”
