MedTech conference returns to Buffalo in October

BUFFALO, N.Y. — MedTech says its annual conference will return to Buffalo in October.

This year’s event — which will have the theme “DisruptNY: Harnessing the Power of Partnership” — is set for Oct. 30 and Oct. 31 at the Hyatt Regency in downtown Buffalo.

Buffalo becomes the first city to host the MedTech conference twice, having hosted the event in 2015 as well, the organization said.

The nonprofit MedTech, which is headquartered at the Tech Garden in Syracuse, is a trade association representing New York’s bioscience and medical-technology (bio/med) industry.

The annual MedTech conference is the largest gathering of executives and senior leaders from New York’s bioscience and medical technology (bio/med) industry. The organization expects more than 300 business leaders from international, national, and regional organizations to attend.

Nearly 300 people attended the 2015 event in Buffalo, the organization said.

MedTech 2017 will include two days of networking, keynote speakers, panel discussions, workshops, and exhibitors.

The conference’s “Tech Showcase” will include the latest prototypes, new product and “recent discoveries” from New York’s pharmaceutical, biotech, and medical-technology sectors.

MedTech 2016 was held in Albany.
