SYRACUSE — MedTech President Heather Erickson is leaving the organization after nearly eight years.
Erickson will leave MedTech Aug. 1. She has been named CEO of the Life Sciences Foundation in San Francisco. The foundation is a nonprofit aiming to record and preserve the history of the life sciences and biotechnology.
Erickson has been with Syracuse–based MedTech since its founding in 2004 when it was known as CNY MedTech, a regional trade association for medical device and technology companies. The group has grown to include more than 90 members from across the state.
MedTech’s board has formed a search committee to seek her successor, Erickson says.
Erickson earned a degree in molecular, cellular, and developmental biology from Yale University in 1999. She previously was a senior consultant at Edgar Dunn & Co. where she assisted clients with strategic planning, including securing venture financing, partner selection, and new product development.
