MedTech reveals new president

SYRACUSE — MedTech, a Syracuse–based trade association for medical technology companies, named a former SRC and O’Brien & Gere employee as its new president today.

Jessica Crawford succeeds Heather Erickson, who was president from MedTech’s founding in 2004 until July, when she left to join the Life Sciences Foundation in San Francisco. Crawford most recently served as manager of government affairs for Cicero–based SRC, Inc., a nonprofit research and development company, and its for-profit manufacturing subsidiary SRCTec.

She was responsible for all legislative activities and management of the government relations program at SRC. She has also served as external relations manager for the engineering firm O’Brien & Gere of Syracuse and associate director of the Office of Government and Community Relations at Syracuse University.

“I’m very excited about the potential for MedTech,” Crawford said in a news release. “It feels good to be here and to support the businesses and professionals who are at the heart of the innovative, exciting new medical products of tomorrow.”

MedTech has 95 members across upstate New York.
