SYRACUSE, N.Y. — MedTech Association has appointed Winthrop (Win) Thurlow as the organization’s new executive director.

MedTech is nonprofit trade association representing New York’s bioscience and medical-technology (bio/med) industry that is headquartered at the Syracuse Technology Garden.

Scott Gucciardi, who chairs the MedTech board of directors, announced Thurlow’s appointment in a memo sent to MedTech’s membership on Friday.

Thurlow succeeds Jessica Crawford, who left the association at the end of May after accepting a job with Boehringer Ingelheim, a German pharmaceutical company.

Besides his role with MedTech, Thurlow is also president and CEO of Enterprise Excellence of Syracuse.

Enterprise Excellence is a firm “dedicated to assisting businesses, universities, nonprofits, municipalities and health-care providers ensure regulatory compliance and build cultures that reflect ethical principles and institutional integrity,” according to Thurlow’s LinkedIn page.

Thurlow most recently served as VP for university compliance and ethics at Upstate Medical University. He had previously served as assistant attorney general in charge of the Syracuse office between 1999 and 2007, his LinkedIn page says.
