Michelle Babak, staff engineer at Elmira–based Fagan Engineers and Land Surveyors, P.C., recently received her professional engineering (PE) license in New York state. She graduated with a degree in geological engineering from Queen’s University in 2019 and started with Fagan Engineers in September 2023. Since then, Babak has been part of several large projects including the Ithaca SouthWorks Development, Bethany Village – Orchard Homes, Painted Post West Water Street Redevelopment project, and several others. In the field, she is experienced in construction-materials testing, soil investigation, design QA/QC, and inspecting various construction projects. Babak is in the process of developing skills in the office such as public-infrastructure engineering, GIS mapping and analysis, and developing environmental-impact statements.
