Prior to his new role, Lawrence was Utica’s city planner. He studied urban planning and geography at the University at Albany, where he also assisted Empire State Development with strategic business development as an intern.
“I look forward to impacting the greater Mohawk Valley region,” Lawrence said. “There is a lot to be learned at EDGE, and projects like the Tech Barn are exciting prospects. This position is a welcome change that will expand on my decade of city-planning experience.”
Phillips joins Mohawk Valley EDGE from the Russian History Museum in Jordanville, where she served as public engagement coordinator. She holds a master’s degree in English literature from SUNY New Paltz with an undergraduate minor in journalism.
“I am ready to spread the word of what our region has to showcase,” Phillips said. “From expanding developments with companies like Wolfspeed to ongoing downtown revitalization initiatives, this is a lucrative time to start at EDGE. I can’t wait to meet with more stakeholders to help foster and enact growth in our area.”
