UTICA, N.Y. — The Mohawk Valley Health System (MVHS) has unveiled a new brand and logo as it draws closer to next year’s opening of The Wynn Hospital in downtown Utica.
“This new brand was developed based on input from our employees, medical staff, board of directors, and the community,” MVHS president and CEO Darlene Stromstad, said in a release.
Working with stakeholders, MVHS defined the goals for its updated brand. Criteria included creating a contemporary look to reflect the new state-of-the-art hospital and care; incorporating bold colors to reflect strength, transformation, health, trust, and hope; visually connecting MVHS and the hospital; and reflecting the assets of the Mohawk Valley — including the Adirondacks, Mohawk River, Erie Canal, the history of the hospital site, and the area’s agricultural base. Those assets are reflected further in the purple, blue, and green colors used in the logo.
The brand was also developed in conjunction with an update of MVHS’s mission and vision statements, core beliefs and values, and promises to its stakeholders.
“It’s an exciting time for both our region and our healthcare system,” Stromstad said. “We are moving to the next generation of healthcare in the Mohawk Valley. The launching of our new brand today is another step in our journey to the future with hope and optimism as we strengthen and grow our services to meet our community’s healthcare needs.”
