UTICA — The Mohawk Valley Association of Realtors (MVAR) recently presented more than $17,580 to Sitrin for its military program. The Sitrin program provides complimentary, comprehensive care for post-9/11 veterans with post-traumatic stress disorder, traumatic brain injuries, depression, anxiety, amputations, spinal cord injuries, and other combat-related conditions. MVAR generated the funds through its annual golf tournament, held Aug. 4, which also included prizes, a 50/50 drawing, and more. To date, MVAR has contributed more than $113,000 from golf tournament proceeds to Sitrin’s military program. The program promotes resilience and reintegration through a variety of treatment regimens that combine traditional therapies with individual psychology intervention, group therapy and family integration therapy, planned helpfulness, ecotherapy, equine-assisted therapy, dance/movement therapy, biofeedback, and adaptive sports.
