M&T Bank appoints Korteling to CNY Region Directors Advisory Council

SYRACUSE, N.Y. — M&T Bank (NYSE: MTB) announced it has appointed Karyn Korteling to its Directors Advisory Council for the Central New York region.

The 11-member council meets regularly throughout the year to provide M&T management with insight on a range of business, client, and community matters, the bank says.

Korteling is owner of Pastabilities, an Italian-American fare restaurant located in the Armory Square district of Syracuse, and Pasta’s Daily Bread, a bakery just across the street from the restaurant. She developed the restaurant’s well-known, Spicy Hot Tomato Oil, into a popular sauce recently featured on the Food Network and carried by Wegmans.

“Karyn will be an excellent asset to the M&T Central New York Advisory Board. As a small business owner for more than 35 years, she understands small business, what is required to grow a business, create jobs and be a strong advocate for other local small business owners.” said Allen Naples, M&T Bank’s regional president for Central New York, said in a news release.

Korteling earned a bachelor’s degree in public communications from Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University.

In addition to Korteling, M&T Bank’s Directors Advisory Council for the Central New York region includes: Aminy I. Audi, Stickley-Audi, Inc.; James V. Breuer, Hueber-Breuer Construction; Carl Byrne, Byrne Dairy; Mara Charlamb, United Radio; Richard W. Cook, Hancock & Estabrook; Richard R. Griffith, Sturges Manufacturing; Luke Lewis, Lewis Custom Homes; Robert H. Linn; James (Jim) Fox, O’Brien & Gere; and Richard J. Zick, Utica First Insurance.

M&T Bank’s Central New York regional headquarters is located on South Salina Street in Syracuse and manages operations in 45 branches, with more than 500 employees across eight counties.
