MVCC hosts criminal-justice career expo on Wednesday

UTICA, N.Y. — Mohawk Valley Community College (MVCC) will host a criminal-justice career expo from 9 a.m. to noon on Wednesday, Oct. 18 in the Jorgensen Center Field House on its Utica campus.

The expo is designed to expose current students and community members to career possibilities in criminal justice. Attendees will have the opportunity to talk with various employers, branches of law enforcement, and MVCC faculty and alumni about specific career topics including agency requirements, hiring processes, employment outlooks, and more.

The event includes a variety of demonstrations including K-9s, drones, and crime-scene analysis.

Participating employers and agencies include the Utica Police Department, Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), AmeriCU Credit Union, New York State Police, New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision, Legal Aid Society of Mid New York, Oneida County Sheriff’s Department, Oneida County Probation Department, Oneida County Jail, Oneida County 911 Call Center, Oneida County Emergency Services, and the MVCC Criminal Justice Club.
