UTICA, N.Y. — Mohawk Valley Community College (MVCC) will host free GenCyber Summer Camps for high-school students in the Mohawk Valley.
The camps, funded by the National Security Agency (NSA), are designed to introduce students to the field of cybersecurity through fun and engaging activities and projects.
The camps will run Mondays through Fridays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The beginner camp takes place July 11-15 and is designed for students in 9th-12th grades who are interested in exploring the field of cybersecurity.
The advanced camp, which runs July 18-22, is for students in 9th-12th grades who attended last year’s camp and those who are already familiar with cybersecurity.
Seats for both camps are limited and applications are available at www.mvcc.edu/gencyber.
With campuses in Utica and Rome, MVCC offers 90 degree and certificate programs for its enrollment of 6,000 full-time and part-time students. The college also serves an additional 6,000 people through its corporate and community-education programs.
