UTICA, N.Y. — The Center for Leadership Excellence (CLE) at Mohawk Valley Community College (MVCC) is accepting applications for its professional leadership-development programs for the Class of 2022.
The programs are scheduled to begin this fall and run from October through June.
They give area professionals a chanced to “connect with other leaders in the Mohawk Valley and learn how they can play a greater role in their organization and in the community,” MVCC said.
The programs include Leadership Mohawk Valley. It is designed for established professionals and provides “in-depth experiences to expand” participants’ understanding of community issues and assets. It also focuses on their leadership style and has the class work on a community-impact project. Case studies and behind-the-scenes visits to area businesses and organizations “provide further insight and understanding.”
In addition, the Supervisors Institute is designed for mid-career professionals and helps participants develop a “more advanced understanding” of leadership principles and build a “supervisory toolkit to maximize” their team’s performance. It provides techniques to “inspire and cultivate a shared vision among team members, manage change, and coach for high performance,” MVCC said.
Another program, the Leadership Academy, is designed for early-career professionals and helps participants “maximize their strengths, amplify their communication skills, recognize the importance of emotional and behavioral intelligence, and develop a clear vision of who they are as a leader.”
