MVHS names McCormack-Miller chief nursing officer

UTICA, N.Y. — Linda McCormack-Miller has been named SVP/chief nursing officer for the Mohawk Valley Health System (MVHS). She is responsible for nursing practice, policy, and procedures across the system.

McCormack-Miller has more than 25 years of health-care experience. After earning her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Seton Hall University in South Orange, New Jersey, she was commissioned as a nurse in the United States Navy. McCormack-Miller served at Portsmouth Naval Hospital in Portsmouth, Virginia; Camp Lejeune Naval Hospital in Jacksonville, North Carolina; and Oakland Naval Hospital in Oakland, California.

She completed her master’s degree in nursing from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia, and her doctorate degree in nursing from Rush University.

In 1993, McCormack-Miller began her post-naval career at Our Lady of Lourdes Memorial Hospital in Binghamton, and held a variety of positions, most recently serving as SVP of operations/chief nursing officer. She is certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center as a nurse executive, advanced.
