MVHS to close COVID vaccine and testing sites

UTICA, N.Y. — Mohawk Valley Health System will close both its COVID-19 vaccination POD in the MVHS Burrstone House, 17110 Burrstone Road, and its testing trailer at the St. Luke’s campus on March 11 due to low volumes. Testing will remain available to employees.

Testing remains available to the region at sites including Rite Aid, Walgreens, Kinney Drugs, and WellNow Urgent Care. Additionally, antigen self-test kits are sold at most pharmacies.

Vaccinations also remain available throughout the region at numerous locations including Rite Aid, Walgreens, Kinney Drugs, Price Chopper, Hannaford, Upstate Family Health Center and through the Oneida, Herkimer and Madison county health departments.

Additional vaccine resources can be found at vaccines.gov and using the vaccine finder to search for available vaccines within a 50-mile radius of any zip code.

COVID cases have dropped dramatically in recent weeks. The state has recently dropped its mask mandate for public spaces and schools. As of March 8, the state’s 7-day average positivity rate was 1.51 percent.
