UTICA, N.Y. — Mohawk Valley Health System (MVHS) announced it is requiring masking in all patient-care areas and for all visitors beginning at 7 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 4.
MVHS cited high community transmission levels of COVID-19 in Oneida County and surrounding areas as tracked by its infection-prevention team for necessitating the masking requirement.
At Wynn Hospital, all visitors and outpatients, staff in patient-care areas, and patients outside of their rooms will need to wear a mask, according to a news release from the health-care system. Patients do not need to wear a mask in their rooms.
At the Faxton Campus, Medical Arts, Center for Rehabilitation and Continuing Care Service, and Medical Group practices, all staff and patients, along with anyone accompanying them, must wear a mask unless in a private office or break room.
