SCHENECTADY, N.Y. — Schenectady–based MVP Health Care on Wednesday announced two executive promotions.

The health insurer has promoted Chris Del Vecchio to chief operating officer and senior advisor to the president and CEO, MVP said in its news release.

MVP also promoted Dawn Jablonski to executive vice president, legal and government affairs and general counsel.

She previously served as MVP’s general counsel and vice president of legal affairs.

Del Vecchio, who had served as executive vice president of strategy and innovation since 2014, will continue to oversee MVP’s strategy, marketing, innovation, and community engagement.

He will also assume responsibility for sales, service, talent management, and information-technology functions.

Del Vecchio will continue to be responsible for “sustaining strategic goals and identifying emerging trends” while developing opportunities for new initiatives and ventures that will help advance the organization, according to the MVP news release.

“Chris has proven to be a tremendous asset to the organization and to the other members of the executive management team,” Denise Gonick, president and CEO of MVP Health Care, said in the news release.  “His focus on member and employee experiences will be vital to our continued success.”

Jablonski is responsible for all legal, regulatory and corporate governance matters and has oversight for the compliance department, the special-investigations unit and government affairs.

She joined MVP in 2006.

“Dawn’s sharp intellect and keen insight into legal issues facing the health care industry will serve MVP and our members well,” said Gonick.

MVP Health Care serves more than 700,000 members in New York and Vermont, the company said. The figure includes nearly 60,000 members in Central New York (CNY), according to the 2016 Book of Lists.
