NBT Bank splits marketing, corporate communications functions

NBT announced that Thomas J. McEntee has joined the bank as senior VP and chief marketing officer. He is leading the bank’s marketing function, developing strategies and programs that leverage digital and traditional channels to promote the bank and its products and services, according to an NBT news release.

McEntee has 22 years of experience in marketing and financial services. He previously was head of digital strategy in the life and specialty insurance division at BlueCross BlueShield, according to the release.

Prior to that, he held a leadership position in multi-channel marketing and digital strategy with MetLife. His work experience also includes jobs at J.P. Morgan, Citigroup, and Charles Schwab.

McEntee earned his bachelor’s degree in international marketing from Baruch College in New York City and he graduated from the executive management program at Babson College. 

Florence R. Doller, who led a combined marketing and communications function during her 19-year career with NBT, is now focusing her efforts fully on internal and external communications strategies as senior VP and director of corporate communications, NBT said.

Doller has 22 years of experience in communications and marketing in financial services. She joined NBT Bank in 1997 as assistant VP and marketing manager, and was promoted to VP and director of marketing in 1999 and senior VP in 2010.

She earned her bachelor’s degree in communications from Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and holds the certified financial marketing professional designation from the Institute of Certified Bankers.

NBT Bank indicated in its release that it split the marketing and communications functions to position the bank for future growth including in the digital area.

Norwich–based NBT Bank said it offers personal banking, asset management, and business services through a network of 154 bank branches in six states — New York, Pennsylvania, Vermont, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Maine.
