OWEGO, N.Y. — The Neighborhood Depot, an $8.1 million shared facility for nonprofits, broke ground on Friday morning, Nov. 10, with a ceremony at 146 Central Ave.

The 16,000-square-foot facility will serve as the home of Tioga United Way, Tioga County Rural Ministry, and Racker once complete, allowing the agencies to share overhead costs. It will also double as an emergency response center in times of crisis.

The Neighborhood Depot will serve a large cross-section of vulnerable and underserved in the region through the collaborative effort of partnering organizations, which offer an array of services, supports, and programs  including early childhood services, assistance for people with disabilities, and support for those in poverty.
