ROME — A Miami–based company plans to launch a new executive charter jet service flying from Rome’s Griffiss International Airport in September.

Catalina Aerospace Corp. will offer on-demand Learjet 31A executive jet charter flights seating up to eight passengers. The Learjet 31A has a cruising speed of 520 miles per hour and a nonstop range of more than 1,000 miles, putting cities like Boston, Washington D.C., and Toronto within 45 minutes of flying time.

The jet will be available 24 hours a day and seven days a week on “a few hours notice,” Catalina Aerospace Corp. said in a news release.
