New course from eCornell focuses on new media marketing

ITHACA — Cornell University and eCornell are rolling out a new online course aimed at training hospitality professionals in new media marketing skills.

The free course is titled Marketing the Hospitality Brand through New Media: Social, Mobile & Search. The course was developed by Rob Kwortnik and Bill Carroll, professors at Cornell’s School of Hotel Administration.

It is based on research and strategies deployed by hospitality organizations worldwide, according to eCornell.

“The course is essentially a virtual toolkit for driving revenue through new media,” eCornell CEO Chris Proulx said in a news release “Hospitality professionals will have an opportunity to learn from some of the industry’s heaviest hitters and emerge from the course ready to play a key role in their company’s marketing strategy.”
