New director announced for MACNY affiliate Partners for Education & Business

DeWITT, N.Y. — MACNY, the Manufacturers Association, has announced the hiring of Dr. Tanya Eastman as director of Partners for Education & Business, Inc., an affiliate of MACNY.

Eastman started in this new role on Sept. 12. She succeeds Joe Vargo, who stepped down from the position in June 2020 but continues working with the organization as a consultant, DeWitt–based MACNY tells CNYBJ in an email.

Eastman comes to MACNY with experience in the nonprofit and for-profit sectors in New York state. She most recently served as director of education and training at United Way of Northern New York. She continues to serve as the foundation administrator for the Syracuse City School District educational foundation and as an adjunct instructor in St. John Fisher University’s doctorate degree in education program in executive leadership.

Prior to 2021, she was director of operations at On Point for College. Eastman started her career at Merrill Lynch & Co. in New York City as a VP in the investor client coverage group, MACNY said.

“Tanya joins our team with so much experience and knowledge. We are so excited to have Tanya here to add incredible value to our team, our members, our partners, and our community,” Randy Wolken, president & CEO of MACNY, said. “She will oversee and support the expansion of Partners for Education & Business Inc.’s initiatives, while also contributing to MACNY’s overall workforce-development goals.”

Eastman earned her bachelor’s degree in finance and computer-information systems from Manhattan College and her MBA in strategy and management from Columbia University Graduate School of Business. She earned her education doctorate in the executive leadership program at St. John Fisher University.
