New VP comes on board at Polaris Library Systems

SALINA — Polaris Library Systems hired a new vice president of strategic growth to help accelerate the company’s growth and uncover new opportunities.

Polaris announced today that Neil Block, former president of Innovative Interfaces, will fill the role.

Polaris, based in Salina, provides software that libraries use for everything from tracking borrowings to cataloging. The company employs more than 80 people and works with nearly 2,000 libraries in the U.S. and Canada.

“As one of our toughest competitors, we’ve known Neil for many years and have had the utmost respect for him and for the way he conducts business,” Polaris President and CEO Bill Schickling said in a news release. “His knowledge, experience and his passion will be a tremendous asset to Polaris, and we’re very fortunate to have him working with us.”

Block held multiple positions at Innovative Interfaces over 25 years, including vice president of worldwide sales and most recently, president.
